Writing Numbers in Italian

When -tre is the last digit of a larger number, it takes an accent: ventitré, trentatré, quarantatré

The numbers venti, trenta, and so on drop the final vowel before adding -uno or otto: ventuno, ventotto.

The ordinal numbers are used as adjectives and as fractions.

When used as adjectives, they agree in gender and number with the nouns that they modify.

In the written language in some cases, the letters must be written in upper case. For example names of persons or after point you have to write the letter of the next word capitalized.

The Italian alphabet (l’alfabeto), has 21 letters plus 5 letter ( j, k, w, x, y) “borrowed” from other languages, used to write words of foreign origin.
